How the 36-team league phase works

UEFA places all 36 clubs in one league ranking. Every club plays eight different opponents in single-leg ties: four at home and four away. The draw uses four pots of nine clubs, with two opponents drawn from each pot and one home plus one away match against clubs from every pot.

The top eight qualify directly for the round of 16. Clubs placed 9th to 24th enter the knockout phase play-offs; clubs placed 25th to 36th are eliminated. This makes every league-phase position meaningful even after direct qualification is out of reach.

UEFA notes that dates remain subject to change. Exact fixtures replace these windows after the official schedule is released.

What the 27 August draw will decide

The draw will identify eight league-phase opponents for every club. It does not, by itself, provide a safe Southeast Asian viewing schedule: UEFA must still publish the dated fixtures and official kick-off times. We will add club-by-club match rows only after that release.

Southeast Asia time guide

European daylight saving changes during the league phase, so a single fixed conversion can be wrong. Vietnam and Thailand use UTC+7; the Philippines and Malaysia use UTC+8. Always convert the official fixture date and time, and show “next day” clearly when a European evening kick-off crosses midnight in Asia.

Regional editorial focus

This international edition tracks the same competition through two Southeast Asian time bands. It will prioritise the official fixture, current phase, qualification meaning and confirmed viewing source rather than copy the same club preview five times.

• Vietnam and Thailand: ICT date changes and late-night viewing windows.
• Philippines and Malaysia: UTC+8 date changes and verified local rights.
• International: one neutral calendar linking to the four local editions.

Where to watch

Broadcast rights are market-specific and can change between qualification and the league phase. Start with UEFA's official match centre; add a local broadcaster only when the rights holder or UEFA confirms it for that market. Unverified streams are not listed.
