How the 36-team league phase works
All 36 clubs share one league ranking. Each club meets eight different opponents in single-leg games, with four home and four away. Four pots contain nine clubs each; every club draws two opponents from every pot, one home and one away.
Positions 1–8 advance directly to the round of 16. Positions 9–24 enter the knockout phase play-offs, while positions 25–36 are eliminated. That format turns goal difference and table position into a season-long story, not just the win-loss record.

UEFA says dates may change. Match-specific dates and Philippine times will replace these windows after the official fixture release.
What to expect after the 27 August draw
The draw establishes eight opponents per club. The Philippine schedule still needs UEFA's dated fixture list and official kick-off times. We will then show PHT, the correct calendar date and a “next day” marker for matches crossing midnight.
Philippine-time planning
The Philippines stays on UTC+8, while Europe changes clocks during the league phase. A September European evening match and a December match with the same local kick-off can land an hour apart in PHT. Every conversion therefore needs the official date.
Why the Philippines edition is different
For Philippine viewers, the main friction is not understanding the format; it is knowing which local date and early-morning window applies. This edition will lead with PHT and clearly separate broadcaster confirmation from general platform speculation.
- PHT date and next-day labels come first.
- Local rights require an official Philippines confirmation.
- Club stories are added only when they change the fixture or qualification picture.
Where to watch in the Philippines
Rights can differ between qualifying and the league phase. Check UEFA's match centre and the confirmed Philippine rights holder before matchday. This guide does not list unofficial restreams or assume that a previous season's platform still holds the rights.
Next editorial checkpoints
- Confirm the seven play-off winners.
- Add the eight league opponents after the 27 August draw.
- Convert the published fixtures to PHT, including next-day dates.
- Before each matchday, verify injuries, suspensions, form and table scenarios.
