KWC 2026 latest status

Honor of Kings World Cup 2026 — officially KWC at EWC26 — begins on 30 July in Paris and runs through 8 August. Twenty teams compete for an official US$3,000,000 prize pool. The 2026 edition is historically different because it brings Honor of Kings and Arena of Valor teams into the same World Cup on a dedicated tournament build based on Season 15 with 111 available heroes.

This international hub is built to change with the tournament: pre-event schedule today, live results from 30 July, Group Stage draw on 31 July, playoff draw on 4 August, and a final evergreen recap after 8 August. Unknown teams remain TBD; Kim Quy 88 does not fill a bracket before the official draw.

How KWC 2026 works

The current 2026 rulebook defines three competitive stages. Play-In (30–31 July) has eight teams split into two groups of four, each using double elimination. Every series is Bo3 with Global Ban & Pick; the top two teams from each group advance. Group Stage (1–4 August) expands the field to 16 teams in four double-elimination groups, again Bo3, with the top two from each group moving on. Playoffs (5–8 August) are a single-elimination bracket for eight teams. Quarterfinals, semifinals and the Grand Final are Bo7; the third-place match is Bo5.

The rulebook also locks two important draw dates: the Group Stage draw is scheduled for 31 July, and the Playoff draw for 4 August. That matters for search users because any complete Group Stage or playoff bracket published before those draws is speculative.

Match times can move. Kim Quy 88 re-checks the live schedule before each matchday instead of treating a pre-event table as permanent.

Current match: Buriram United vs Team Flash

The first scheduled KWC series is an AoV/RoV rivalry match between Thailand’s Buriram United and Vietnam’s Team Flash. It starts 30 July at 10:00 CEST / 08:00 UTC in Play-In Group A and is a best-of-three.

If the winner takes the Group A Upper Final later the same day, it qualifies directly for the Group Stage. The losing side of the opener is not immediately eliminated; double elimination gives it a Lower Bracket route on 31 July.

Buriram roster watch

Why this differs from the submitted English report: the report explicitly calls Valdus/TAOZ “confirmed” and AlmondP/Deawwy “not at Paris”. The current KWC participant page says the opposite, and the current EWC player list also contains AlmondP and Deawwy. Because Buriram itself has not supplied a named five in the sources we found, the honest editorial position is to show the conflict rather than turn a secondary disagreement into a fact.

Team Flash roster watch

The fresh 29 July re-check also resolves the “fifth-slot conflict” described in the supplied report. The current KWC participant page and EWC player list both align on Saro, Julius, Yuh, Ryn and Tofu. HieuDuc is listed DNP on the current KWC page. Until a match sheet changes that status, Kim Quy 88 treats Saro / Julius / Yuh / Ryn / Tofu as the current listed five.

Why the HoK × AoV crossover matters

KWC 2026 is not simply an ordinary Honor of Kings event with three guest teams. Buriram United, Team Flash and Deep Cross Gaming arrive through RoV/AoV leagues, while the rest of the field comes through Honor of Kings pathways. The tournament build is based on Honor of Kings Season 15 and exposes a 111-hero pool designed to bridge the two competitive ecosystems.

That makes prior AoV head-to-heads useful context, but not a prediction model. The same players must adapt to KWC’s hero availability, lane terminology, itemization and draft environment. A past AoV result can explain a rivalry; it cannot prove an automatic advantage on the KWC tournament version.

Global Ban & Pick and Ultimate Battle

Global Ban & Pick: the 2026 rulebook states that heroes a team used in previous games cannot be used by that same team in the remaining games of the match. Each hero can be used only once per team per match, and the usage restriction applies to the team as a whole. The referee automatically removes previously used heroes from later drafts.

Ultimate Battle: this is only relevant to an in-person Bo7 that reaches 3–3 after Game 6. The losing coach from Game 6 gets 60 seconds to choose the side for Game 7. The teams then submit their hero lineups and challenger spells under the special procedure; Game 7 is played in normal 5v5 mode with no ban phase. It is not part of the Buriram–Team Flash opener because that match is Bo3.

The safest global starting points are the official Honor of Kings Esports and Esports World Cup channels. Current event coverage confirms YouTube and Twitch as major global broadcast platforms; Facebook has also been used in the official KWC distribution ecosystem. Kim Quy 88 does not publish an unconfirmed regional broadcaster or co-stream as official.

Venue: Paris is confirmed; the exact Play-In hall is not

Esports World Cup 2026 is hosted at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. That confirms the overall event complex, not the exact hall or stage for every KWC series. This tournament hub therefore does not invent a match-specific hall and deliberately does not use SportsEvent schema at tournament level.

Defending champion: AG.AL

AG.AL return as the defending KWC champion after winning the 2025 final 4–3 against TT Global. They begin directly in the 2026 Group Stage and anchor Group A for the official group draw structure.
